How to Play Scrabble

  A. Setting up the board and tiles Scrabble

 To begin the game, players must set up the Scrabble board on a flat surface. The board is divided into a 15x15 grid of squares, with each square colored to indicate the point value of letters placed on that square. The players must also set up the tile rack, which is used to hold the letter tiles. Each player starts with seven tiles, which are chosen randomly from a bag filled with 100 letter tiles. 

B. Objective of the Scrabble game 

The objective of Scrabble is to score as many points as possible by creating words on the board. Players take turns placing letter tiles onto the board to form words, with the goal of maximizing the point value of each word. Players score points based on the length of the word and the point value of the letter tiles used. 

C. Rules for placing and scoring words Scrabble

On each turn, a player must place at least one tile on the board to form a word. The word must be at least two letters long and must connect to an existing word on the board. The player must also use a dictionary to confirm that the word is valid. After placing the tiles, the player must then calculate and record their score for the turn. If a player cannot create a valid word, they must forfeit their turn and draw more tiles from the bag. 

D. Variations of the game and how they differ from traditional Scrabble

 Scrabble has many variations and adaptations of the original game, such as Scrabble Junior, Scrabble Slam, and Scrabble Travel. These versions of the game often have simpler rules or different formats, making them more accessible or better suited for certain audiences. For example, Scrabble Junior is a version of the game tailored for children and it has fewer tiles and simpler rules, whereas Scrabble Slam is a faster-paced and more action-oriented version of the game, where players race to create words using cards instead of letter tiles.
