In the kitchen - Let’s cook: We mix ingredients, steps to follow, cooking time

Anne:Hi, Rose, how are you, what are we cooking today?

Rose:Today we have lasagna Bolognese. Do you know how it’s made?

Anne:No, but I can help you if you give me the recipe. We’re making lasagna for 6 persons. We need: 750 grams of tomato juice, 100 grams of bacon, an onion, a carrot, 800 grams of minced meat, half a glass of wine, 500 grams of lasagna, 500 grams of mozzarella, 300 ml of béchamel sauce, 30 grams of parmesan, salt and oil.

Anne:How do we do it?

Rose:We slice the mozzarella and we put it in the fridge to dry. We prepare the ragu Bolognese sauce by grating the carrot and the onion into a pot and by adding the cubed bacon. We then add the minced meat and we pour wine in order to enhance the taste.

Anne:Got it. What’s next?

Rose:We add the tomato sauce, salt and we cover the ragu sauce with a lid and cook gently for two hours. When the sauce is ready, we remove it from the fire.

Anne:What’s next?

Rose:Meanwhile, we prepare the béchamel sauce by melting 25 grams of butter with 25 grams of flour and 250 grams of milk, we mix it and we leave it on the fire until it boils. In a buttered pan we pour a layer of béchamel, we cover it with a layer of lasagna and then we add a layer of ragu.

Anne:It’s not hard at all.

Rose:No. Then we put the slices of mozzarella and we cover it with béchamel and we spread the parmesan.

Anne:And then we cover it with another layer of lasagna and we repeat the whole process.

Rose:Exactly. At the end, we put the remaining ragu and béchamel sauce and we mix them until we have a pink sauce. We spread the remaining parmesan and we put it in the oven at 180 degrees.

Anne:How much do we leave it there?

Rose:We leave it there for 30 minutes and then we get it out and we let it bake before slicing and serving it. Shall we begin now?

Anne:Come on, I can’t wait!
